Chicago Bulls assign Cameron Bairstow to Austin Spurs

The Chicago Bulls announced on Sunday that forward Cameron Bairstow was assigned to the Austin Spurs, pursuant to the NBA Development League’s Flexible Assignment Rule.

Bairstow was the 49th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft after spending four years at the University of New Mexico. He’s appeared in two games with the Chicago Bulls this season, averaging 1.0 points and 1.5 rebounds in five minutes of action per game.

It’s worth noting that the Chicago Bulls have only utilized the D-League three times before this. Marquis Teague was sent down twice and James Johnson once, with both being traded soon after being assigned.

Bairstow will be active as the Spurs take on the Santa Cruz Warriors on Friday night from Kaiser Permanente Arena.
