Former San Antonio Spurs player Stephen Jackson has sure come a long way since his “bad boy” 
days.
Known for his off-the-court incidents and his involvement in the infamous “Malice at the Palace” between the Pistons and Pacers, Jackson’s reputation is a bit tarnished. But now that he is with the Milwaukee Bucks, the NBA veteran is showing leadership and that he means business.
“If guys come in here not focused on a championship, just making the playoffs, we need to trade them. We need to be talking about a championship and nothing else. You can’t limit yourself to just playoffs. Who wants to do that? Playoffs is not really an achievement to me. Anybody can get to the playoffs.”
That’s some tough talk from the ex-Spur but needed out in Milwaukee.
Let’s face it, the East is still not as strong as the West. It is top-heavy with Miami, Chicago, and Boston and the Bucks can break in and surprise some teams. Along with Jackson, the team sports a roster of Andrew Bogut, Brandon Jennings, Mike Dunleavy Jr., Luc Mbah a Moute and head coach Scott Skiles.
This team is on the rise and with Jackson setting the tone early on and taking this no-nonsense approach with the Bucks, I am sure his former no-nonsense coach in San Antonio would approve.
