Bruce Bowen an All-Star?

0

I just took a look at the first All-Star voting returns and going down the list I saw a name I didn’t expect. Bruce Bowen.

After the Duncans, Stoudamires, Anthonys comes Bruce Bowen listed 7th among Western Conference forwards with 121,739 votes.

So sure, 7th may not be great, but he is ahead of Shane Battier, Josh Howard, Luis Scola and Lamar Odom and he’s less than 100,000 votes away from Ron Artest. That’s saying a lot for a player who is averaging 3 points and 2 rebounds a game and is now coming off the bench.

Aside from Bowen, Duncan is first among Western Conference forwards with 442,403 votes. Manu is fourth among guards with just under 167,000 votes and Tony Parker has 161,638 votes, good enough for sixth among guards in the Western Conference.

Click here to vote and while you’re at it, get some more votes in for Bowen, because how great would it be if Bowen got more votes than Dirk Nowitzki.
