The Hawkeyes are coming off one of their best showings of the season against Northwestern. They scored 112 (!!!!) points and shot an absurd 65.5% from beyond the arc. There’s no way that kind of performance can be repeated, but it did allow quite a few players some extra rest they weren’t expecting before facing Rutgers.

Iowa vs. Rutgers Basketball Game Betting Preview

Iowa has one of the best offenses in the country, averaging over 83 points per game. One of the ways the Hawkeyes score so often is by not turning the ball over a whole lot. They’re one of the best in the country with only nine turnovers a game while forcing 14 from the other team.

Rutgers doesn’t score as often as Iowa, but the Scarlet Knights are more accustomed to playing some semblance of defense. They allow about 65 points a game against Iowa’s 71. They also don’t turn the ball over too much at less than 12 times a game. They also hold teams to 41.2% shooting from the floor overall and shoot a respectable 44.2% themselves.

Rutgers likely needs a win here to get into the NCAA Tournament or at least ensure it gets a bye with no play-in game. Iowa can gain some seeding traction with a win here and in its next game so it has a fair amount at stake as well.
