Austin Toros Welcome De Colo, Thomas from Spurs

The Austin Toros received some help to their roster with guard Nando De Colo and forward Malcom Thomas.

Through 11 games with the San Antonio Spurs, De Colo averaged 1.8 points per game, 1.2 assists and 1.4 rebounds in 7.3 minutes.

Last season, Thomas averaged 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds per game on 50 percent shooting through 12 games.

This is De Colo’s fourth stint in Austin. Through three games, he put up 30.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 4.33 steals in 38.0 minutes.

Thomas played with the Toros two previous times before this assignment. In three games, Thomas has averaged 20.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 4.3 blocks in 37.3 minutes.

The Toros beat the Tulsa 66ers 96-93 in Cedar Park, Texas on Sunday afternoon.

De Colo posted 10 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds and 5 turnovers in 41 minutes.

Thomas didn’t play as well, attaining 3 fouls in 9 minutes.

The leading scorer of the game was Ronald Murray with 30 points.

Luke Zeller grabbed a team-high eight rebounds with 11 points.

The Toros are now 6-6, and the 66ers 2-12.

The home team shot 52.9 percent from the field but just 25 percent from three. They held Tulsa to 44 percent field-goal shooting.

The Toros got off to a hot start, outscoring the 66ers 28-13 in the first quarter.

Tulsa made a late push through the third quarter but the the Toros were able to fight  through and close them out in the fourth.

The next game for the Austin Toros will be at home Friday, January 3rd against the  Texas Legends.
