The Austin Toros will host a special event on Thursday evening to benefit The Mary Kay Foundation, an organization whose mission is to eliminate cancers that affect women and to end the epidemic of violence against women. In 2010, The Mary Kay Foundation granted a total of $3 million to domestic violence shelters and awarded $1.3 million in cancer research grants. The Toros will wear pink jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game.
Prior to the game against the Texas Legends, the Girl’s Night Out event will feature a “Basketball 101” clinic on the court and a talk given by former University of Texas women’s basketball coach and Austin legend, Jody Conradt. After the talk there will be a happy hour. Registration will begin at 5 pm and there is no additional cost for the event in excess of game ticket cost.
