After playing their most recent game on November 20th, the Austin Spurs return to action against the Birmingham Squadron. Austin is coming off a tough 117-110 loss at the hands of the Mexico City Capitanes. Birmingham is looking to keep the momentum going after a win against the Memphis Hustle. The Squadron are currently on a three-game winning streak and hopes to continue the winning ways. Austin has really been hit-and-miss this season in terms of wins and losses, but the Thanksgiving break may help the team reset mentally and prepare them for the upcoming stretch.

Austin Spurs Preview

Austin will hope to begin a string of wins and potentially get revenge on Birmingham as they begin a two-game road series. The Spurs did drop their last game before the break in a tough game against Mexico City. Once again, the two stars of the show for Austin were Alize Johnson and Chaundee Brown Jr.

Johnson ended up recording a second-straight double-double with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Brown Jr. had 24 points and four assists, and five players in total had five assists. The offense ended up producing over 100 points once again. Although, it has been the defensive woes that continue to haunt the Spurs. It will be a big point for Austin to bounce back from a team who has beaten them. That score left a sour taste in the mouths of the Spurs, so they will hope to play much better defense and keep the same level of offensive production that they have had this season.

Birmingham Preview

The red-hot Squadron team welcomes Austin to Birmingham. Birmingham will look to make it four in a row and continue to play quality basketball. In their last game on November 21st against Memphis, Kelan Martin was the top scorer with 23 points, five rebounds, and four assists to help lead Birmingham to their third straight. Forward Zylan Cheatham and Dereon Seabron will look to hurt Austin yet again and try to continue this tremendous offensive production going. It will surely be a battle of who can limit the powerful offensives the most. You won’t stop both teams, but only hope to contain them.
