Austin Spurs Preview

With such a heartbreaking loss on top of an already tough season, the Spurs will desperately be needing a win to regain confidence. With such a back-and-forth game with OKC last time out, the Spurs ended up just short of the W. Blake Wesley continued his fine form with 29 points and two steals. The rookie from Notre Dame has continued to develop into a quality scorer with Austin, and Spurs fans will be hoping that his performances in the G-League translate to the NBA. New Austin Spur Brandon Randolph also had a solid night with 22 points and eight rebounds and Dominick Barlow has been the hot hand at the center position with 21 points and 10 rebounds, racking up yet another double-double on the season. Despite this, Austin picked up their tenth loss of the season, and with every loss see their postseason hopes dimming. With these next two games must-win, will Austin have another firepower to turn the season around?

Iowa Wolves Preview

Despite the record, the Iowa Wolves have a team with some real scorers. In their last game with the OKC Blue, center and Iowa Hawkeye alum Luke Garza had a dominating 34 points, 18 rebounds, and eight assists. Garza will have to be Austin’s number one priority on defense, as he is dominating the G-League. Garza is averaging 32.5 PPG, 12 RPG, and 5 APG, and shows no signs of slowing down. Matt Ryan and Josh Minott are a solid combination in the front court and racked up 24 and 22 points respectively against the Blue. Former NBA stars Wendall Carter Jr. and Emmanuel Mudiay are also on the roster, giving Iowa a veteran presence.

Two teams that love to put up points will battle it out in Des Moines on back-to-back days, which makes for a great weekend of basketball.
