Austin Spurs Preview

The Spurs were able to get a much-needed victory over the Eastern conference’s Greensboro Swarm. The Spurs were happy to see some returns into the starting lineup, with Chaundee Brown Jr., Dominick Barlow, and Blake Wesley back in the first five. Wesley made an instant impact in his return to Austin with 30 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Barlow also had a big-time return with 27 points and 13 rebounds, showing his dominant presence in the paint. Julien Champagnie also racked up a double-double as he finished with 20 points and 12 rebounds.

Austin really looked sharp defensively and was the more physical team on the boards. The return of Barlow helps give a bit more stability in the front court and allowed for Austin to be more structured in their shape. They will now hope to win consecutive games versus a very tough Skyforce squad that will be hungry for a win after losing a heartbreaker to the South Bay Lakers.

Sioux Falls Skyforce Preview

Every game counts for the Skyforce as they try and fight their way to a playoff birth with the season running down. In their last game, Justin Champagnie had an absolute monster night with a whopping 40 points and 17 rebounds. Champagnie is one of the G-League’s top scorers and will certainly look to cause Austin trouble. Nikola Jovic also had a big 26 points off the bench and will be a threat. The rookie from Serbia is continuing to impress in the G-League this season. DJ Stewart partners up with Champagnie as a solid member of the front court and will cause issues with his physicality.

Austin is in for a real dog fight in this road test. A team that is super hungry for a playoff position in Sioux Falls will not want to take another loss, so expect this game to be high-octane, nonstop offensive basketball. It should be a Sunday evening showdown that you won’t want to miss.
