The Austin Spurs were able to secure a much-needed victory in a 108-100 against the Ontario Clippers on Friday, January 20th. After losing three straight losses, the Spurs were able to get an impressive win against one of the top teams in the Western Conference.
Now they will look to make it two wins in a row as they finish off the two-game home series with Ontario Clippers on Saturday, January 21st. Austin will hope to gain some of the momentum for the rest of the season as they hope to push for a playoff spot. Tip-off for tonight’s contest will be at 7:00 P.M. CST.

Austin Spurs Preview
The Spurs were able to finally get their hands on a big-time win as they defeated Ontario 108-100. Dominick Barlow was the big-time performer for Austin, with a season-high 23 points and 10 rebounds. Barlow has really started to come into his own in the past few games, and with the absence of Charles Bassey for this past game, he was able to take full advantage of the start. Guard Jalen Adaway had a decent 16 points and will hope to find the form he was in at the start of the season. Blake Wesley also continues to impress with a 15-point and six-rebound performance. Alize Johnson also contributed greatly off the bench, with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Even when he doesn’t get the start, he still finds a way to leave a major impact.
The performance of the squad as a whole was much better and that can be seen by the result of the game. The Spurs were able to be efficient in their shooting, and forcing turnovers was a key to the success. Playing smart on the defensive side of things is the major area for Austin to continue to improve on this season.
Ontario Clippers Preview
A big-time blow with this most recent loss, Ontario had trouble shooting the ball on Friday night. While scoring leader Brandon Boston Jr. had 22 points and eight rebounds, he shot 8-25 for the night. Xavier Moon also finished with 22 points and is Ontario’s real six-man threat. Former UTSA Roadrunner Keaton Wallace is continuing to put up good performances with 14 points on the night. The Clippers are still a hungry team and are in search of a playoff spot. This team is talented, and it will be another physical battle for the Spurs to face.
