After a few days of rest coming off of the 126-110 loss at the hands of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, the Austin Spurs will return to action as they take on the Oklahoma City Blue. With the Texas winter storm, the early tip-off has been rescheduled for 7 PM. This will be an exciting matchup for the Spurs, who are favored in this matchup. Oklahoma City, like Austin, has been really up and down this season in regard to wins and losses. The talent is there, but both squads have yet to completely put it together this season. Now heading into the last two months, can either team turn it around and make a run toward the playoffs?

Austin Spurs Preview
The Spurs, despite missing four players during their last game, kept it close with RGV for most of the game. The biggest performance of the night had to be Dominick Barlow, who had a career-high 32 points and 10 rebounds. Barlow is a player who has really stepped up recently for Austin and is one to watch in this matchup. Charles Bassey only played 12 minutes and still managed to round up 11 points and three rebounds, while Jalen Adaway had 15 points and 4 rebounds off the bench.
With the hope that they can get players like Chaundee Brown Jr. and Denzel Mahoney back in time for this game, the Spurs may still be a bit short-handed coming into this matchup. Austin has already beaten OKC this season and will hope to get a big-time win to turn their season around. It has been said quite a bit during these previews, but the defensive side of the ball has been the glaring issue this season. When Austin doesn’t have a player like Bassey at the center position, it is sometimes easy for the Spurs to get dominated in the paint. Will they be able to adjust, either with or without Bassey?
OKC Blue Preview
Oklahoma City’s last game was on January 29th, when they lost a close one to the Iowa Wolves 127-122. OKC is a bit similar to Austin as they have a great ability to put points on the board, but defensively they are not up to standard. Eugene Omoruyi was the leading scorer vs. Iowa with 23 points and 10 rebounds and is an athletic forward who loves to drive inside. Lindy Waters III is a scoring machine, and it is perfectly shown by his stat line vs. Iowa with 21 points, seven rebounds, and five assists. Omoruyi and Waters make a great combination. Players like Robert Woodard and Adam Mokoka add some great production off the bench.
This team is an offensive machine, and will easily put up over 100 points a night. With so much firepower on both teams, this will be an exciting matchup that you won’t want to miss.
