The San Antonio Spurs sent Nando De Colo once again to the Austin Toros and have now recalled him back after a very brief stint (his second) with the team.

The San Antonio Spurs today announced that they have recalled guard Nando De Colo from the Austin Toros of the NBA Development League.

Assigned on Friday, De Colo finished with 15 points, 9 assists, 6 rebounds and 2 steals in 34 minutes against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

This shouldn't come as a surprise that the team is doing this, mainly to keep Nando's in game conditioning and his confidence up.

With little playing time during games with head coach Gregg Popovich still trying to figure out what Gary Neal can bring to the team as a backup to Tony Parker, that leaves the surplus of Patty Mills and De Colo without much to do except sit on the bench.

With him playing in the D-League, Nando can still stay fresh and playing in competitive play while his role with the Spurs isn't too known right now. If Gary Neal continues to struggle in the point guard position, don't be surprised if the Spurs go to De Colo as the main backup in the latter part of the year.

For now, it seems the Spurs are doing a good move by sending him to play and keep sharp for when he's needed in the big leagues.
