According to international basketball reporter David Pick, former San Antonio Spurs draft pick Cady Lalanne has signed with New Basket Brindisi of Italy’s Lega Basket Serie A.

Lalanne, selected 55th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, has journeyed through the G League, Puerto Rico and China since being drafted, while most recently logging minutes with the San Antonio Spurs summer league team.

In seven games, Lalanne averaged 4.9 points and 2.4 rebounds while playing limited minutes for the “Summer Spurs.”

The 25-year-old Lalanne showed promise after his first year in Austin, averaging 13.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game during the 2015-16 season.

Since going overseas, Lalanne won a championship in Puerto Rico with the Capitanes de Arecibo and also picked up an “MVP of the Week” award back in April. But not much else is known about the former UMass forward or his development. Luckily for Lalanne, Brindisi’s general manager sees his style of play fitting in nicely.

“We are delighted to have Cady added to our roster,” General Manager Alessandro Guiliani said. “It will take time to adapt to European basketball with predictable ups and downs, but he will be an important piece of the puzzle.”
