Alumnus Watch: Gee to Cleveland

Former Toros forward and D-League Rookie of the Year, Alonzo Gee, is making another stop in hopes of making his NBA dreams come true.

After he was waived from the Spurs, he was signed in Washington to offer the team some help on the wing.

With the Wizards recent trade of Gilbert Arenas to the Orlando Magic for Rashard Lewis, Gee became expendable and was waived on December 20 when the Wizards brough back Lester Hudson for some depth at point guard.

So Gee’s NBA journey continues in Cleveland.

Since there doesn’t to be any lack of depth at the two or the three in Cleveland, Gee’s signing likely had more to do with potential then filling a void, so don’t be surprised to see him make a few trips to Erie.
