All-Star first results in, TD in danger of snapping All-Star apperance streak

The 2012 NBA All-Star first ballot returns are in and not one of the San Antonio Spurs’ “Big 3” are no where near the top of the list.

Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker are on the ballot and have received some votes but it’s not enough to keep them in the running to be named in the starting-five.

TD has received 81,783 votes but he is trailing fellow forwards Kevin Durant with 633,538; Blake Griffin with 394,264; Dirk Nowitzki with 231,832; Pau Gasol with 185,428; Kevin Love with 143,814; and LaMarcus Aldridge with 118,268.

Ginobili (who was probably the best shot for San Antonio being represented in Orlando before injuring his hand) has received 50,765 fan votes but is trailing guards Kobe Bryant with 690,613; Chris Paul with 540,173; Ricky Rubio with 133,520; Steve Nash with 118,922; Russell Westbrook with 107,197; Kyle Lowry with 90,725; and Monta Ellis with 63,696.

As for TP, he hasn’t received enough votes to even be listed among West guards.

One thing to keep an eye on is on Duncan. Should not be named to the West All-Star roster, the 13-time All-Star would snap his All-Star appearance streak. He has made the team since 2000. And seeing how his numbers are down this season, the chances are high TD will miss the annual event.

Though I doubt Duncan would not mind and fans would rather see him rest up in this crazy truncated season.
