5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Mavericks


The San Antonio Spurs (49-16) return to the AT&T Center to host their division foe Dallas Mavericks (30-33) tonight in San Antonio. This will be the Spurs and Mavs final meeting of the regular season with the Spurs winning the first three games. Also, Tim Duncan and Kawhi Leonard will be back on the court for San Antonio after sitting out the team's recent game against Minnesota due to injury.

In the most recent game between the Spurs and Mavs, the Spurs won 113-107 at Dallas. In the regular season series, six Spurs are averaging double figures against the Mavericks with Tony Parker leading the Spurs averaging 20.7 points and 8.3 assists in three games. 

The Spurs are coming off a huge 87-103 loss versus the Timberwolves in Minnesota. The Spurs were paced by Cory Joseph’s 15 points. In the second quarter, the Spurs only scored a season-low 10 points.

The Mavs are coming off a 115-108 win over the Bucks in Milwaukee. Vince Carter led Dallas with 23 points.

And as the Spurs look to sweep the regular season series versus the Mavs, here are five things to watch for during tonight's contest:

• Spurs' Duncan is averaging 16.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in two games versus Dallas.

• The Mavs are 8-2 when Carter scores at least 20 points.

• The Mavs are 14-2 this season when they shoot 50-plus percent from the field.

• The Mavs improved to 10-3 this season when they record 10-or-fewer turnovers in a game.

• The Mavs are 6-16 when outrebounded by their opponent on the road.
