Last year, Team USA was led on the ice by Trevor Zegras who turned 20 years old last March, and currently plays professionally in the NHL for the Anaheim Ducks. He led all players in the tournament with 18 total points from his seven goals and 11 assists. Zegras was the only player with double-digit assist totals.

This year’s 25 players are will be captained by Jake Sanderson, though it will yet be soon who shines with their performance in Canada. Per the team, the roster includes players from 16 different states, and all but five of them are currently playing collegiate hockey.

Since the first IIHF World Junior Championships in 1977, Team USA has won five gold medals, had two silver finishes, and earned bronze six times.
