We talk a lot about the Spurs needing help at center and the Spurs bench being nonexistent, break down the game and the box score and call it a podcast at about the 20 minute mark. Mike and Jeff recap the Spurs opening night loss to the Suns, go over the box score and give out our first shiny and rusty Spurs of the night. In the Silver & Black Insider, we talk about two audio clips from Charles Barkley and Eric snow discussing the Spurs chances and Ian Thomsen of SI says the Spurs will beat the Celtics in the finals this year. After a few Spurs notes, including a Fabricio Oberto injury update, we go to our new segment, the hot seat. It’s great to be back and we look forward to bringing you weekly shows again as well as one live blog a week.

I got a chance to talk with IUPUI Sports Information Director Ed Holdaway about Spurs draft selection and former IUPUI standout George Hill. You may not know much about Hill now, but I have a feeling he’s going to end up being a fan favorite in San Antonio. Ed gave us a bit of insight into not only George Hill, the player, but also the person and takes us through the workouts, pre-draft camps and a surreal draft night for Hill.
