There’s no questioning San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Ettore Messina is one of the best basketball coaches in the world. From his coaching style, high basketball IQ to his stellar coaching resume, Messina is a wealth of basketball knowledge the Spurs will be able to tap into next season.
In this rare video from 2011, Messina visited a basketball camp in Canada and taught players and coaches about the game. Philadelphia 76ers head coach (and former San Antonio Spurs assistant coach) Brett Brown knows a thing or two about the playing style of Boris Diaw. And it is that style that he sees in rookie Dario Saric. Brown went to Spain to see his new player participate at the 2014 FIBA World Cup to get […]

San Antonio Spurs’ Tony Parker has been known to nail a circus shot or two on the NBA hardwood. Rémi Gaillard, a French pranskter, is also know to connect on ridiculous shots at the rim.

Check out Parker and Gaillard going one-on-one in a display of some of the wildest trick shots you have seen, including Tony making basket by kicking the ball the full length of the court! (more…)
Today’s game between Brazil and Egypt was a classic example of David vs. Goliath. Only Goliath had no intention of ever being defeated. Brazil came out and squashed any hope Egypt had within the first three minutes. At the 6:55 mark left in the first quarter, Brazil had already jumped out to a 13-0 lead […]
San Antonio Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard may have passed on playing with Team USA, but he took time to be in a rap video by TYGA.
Kawhi doesn’t take the mic or rap in the video, but simply is filmed celebrating the Spurs’ 2014 NBA crown complete with champagne bottles with sparklers, girls in bikinis holding up a cut-out of his face, and a huge “MVP” sign behind him when he makes his grand entrance.
Check out Kawhi at the 52 second point of the video below but be warned, the rap song is NSFW due to its lyrics. (more…)

With Mexico’s Gustavo Ayon rumored to have some interest from the Spurs, and question marks surrounding whether or not restricted free agent Aron Baynes would be back, the table was set for this morning’s Group D matchup between Australia and Mexico. It was a close battle through most of the first half, but Australia began […]
San Antonio Spurs guard Cory Joseph played exhibition games in the offseason for Team Canada and took the time to hone his skills and help Canada become a team to be reckoned with at the 2015 FIBA Americas.
If things go accordingly, Team Canada could field a roster of Joseph, Andrew Wiggins, Tristan Thompson, Anthony Bennett, Joel Anthony, Spike Albrecht, Andrew Nicholson, and Kelly Olynyk. A team with that roster could make some noise if they qualify for the 2016 Olympics.
Something Joseph is quite confident about. (more…)
The San Antonio Spurs have been reportedly looking into adding free agent guard Ray Allen to the roster for next season. When news hit, it sent Spurs fans into a frenzy but since then, things have calmed down and Allen still hasn’t announced where he plans to play next season. And for Ray, he likes […]
San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich has been called many things. From “grumpy,” “sarcastic” to “curmudgeon,” but this might be the first time someone can call Pop his muse. A local San Antonio artist, Jorge Villarreal, is a huge fan of Pop and has featured him in his recent piece called “Pop Art.”
We’re still weeks away from the first wave of NBA life, but there is still plenty of action to discuss. Actually, there isn’t. Outside of FIBA Worldcup action, offseason news has been almost nonexistent and there is only so much time the topic of training camp bodies can fill. That and we’re also not looking to squeeze blood from a stone just on guys that you will likely never see on the Spurs’ regular season roster. So last week we came to you on our hands and knees, begging for questions to be sent our way.
