Tony Parker is all in for Eurobasket 2015

San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker is all in for Eurobasket 2015. French team coach Vincent Collet said, “Ten minutes after the Eurobasket 2015 draw Tony Parker called me saying ‘I am in.’” That was a quick trigger on the phone call for Parker, but I guess I would be in that quick if I […]

Obama praises the Spurs

Talk about a high honor. The San Antonio Spurs are viewed as the definition of team sports. From their unselfishness, team chemistry, hard work to their well respected off-the-court demeanor, the Spurs are the class of the NBA and arguably all of pro-sports. And it is enough to get the attention of President Barak Obama. […]

About A Loss: Spurs 110, Lakers 112

AT&T CENTER – “I thought the Lakers did a great job. They had an edge, they were aggressive on both ends of the floor, they executed well and they definitely wanted the game more than we did. It seemed to be more important to them than to us. I thought our performance was pitiful.” Those […]

Before Tip-Off: Leonard to miss Spurs vs. Lakers game (Audio)

AT&T CENTER – The San Antonio Spurs (16-6) will host the Los Angeles Lakers (6-16) Friday evening in a game that has a bit more attention than a usual 23rd game of the regular season in mid December, as Lakers guard Kobe Bryant, is 31 points away from passing Michael Jordan to move into third place on the NBA’s All-Time scoring list.

On the Spurs’ end, they’ll be missing their best perimeter defender in Kawhi Leonard (bruised right hand), but they will have Tony Parker return to the lineup, after he missed time with a mild strain, of his left hamstring. Being here at the arena, I previewed the game in the audio clip below and discussed what both coaches had to say in their pregame interview, as well as gave an update on Leonard’s injury status.

Another day, another Spurs rap star

It would seem the San Antonio Spurs can’t stay out of the spotlight. After coach Popovich was mentioned in a song about “Always Winnin” Marco Belinelli goes and stars in an Italian rap song. Now, this was filmed over the offseason so don’t think Marco just popped over in between games and churned this out super […]

Chris Bosh on losing to Spurs in Finals: ‘I can respect that’

The San Antonio Spurs dismantled the Miami Heat in last season’s NBA Finals in five games. Miami had zero answer for the Spurs as San Antonio put on a basketball clinic on how team ball is supposed to be played. The win was the Spurs fifth title in franchise history while the loss pretty much […]

Video: Badgers head coach Bo Ryan gracious for comparisons to Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs are the poster child for how a sports franchise should be run on and off the court.

On the court, many other clubs try to duplicate the Spurs’ team basketball concept, their unselfishness, their chemistry, and longevity. Not to mention try to win multiple titles.

However, the Spurs’ way transcends pro-sports and can be seen on the college basketball level.

Take the Wisconsin Badgers who play much like the Spurs and when their head coach, Bo Ryan, was asked about the comparisons, he was thankful for the comparison but says his team is not there yet. (more…)
