The NBA Summer League, a time for fans to get a taste of fresh draftees’ skills on the hardwood, concluded in Las Vegas Monday. Video: Kawhi Leonard hams it up during Filipino TV show

San Antonio Spurs’ Kawhi Leonard will be taking part in a charity game against the Philippine national men’s basketball team as a tune up for Team Philippines before the 2014 FIBA World Cup tournament later this summer in Spain. Leonard will be joined by other NBA stars such as Damian Lillard, Terrence Ross, Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan for the July 22 to 23 games at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila.

To promote the game, Leonard was a guest (along with other NBA notable players) on a Filipino TV show where he spoke to the crowd, thanked them for their support and in a very un-Kawhi Leonard way, hammed it up for the crowd a bit when he took the mic and tried to get the crowd involved. (more…)

Video: Spurs’ Patty Mills presented with the keys to his home city of Canberra

To the victor goes the… keys to the city! That was the way it was for San Antonio Spurs’ Patty Mills in his home country of Australia.

While touring his home country of Australia with the 2014 NBA trophy, Mills was the guest of honor at a ceremony where he was presented the keys to the city of Canberra, Mills’ home city in Australia.

Canberra’s acting Chief Minister led the ceremony where he thanked the Spurs organization for allowing the team’s 2014 NBA trophy to tour Australia as well as praised Mills as being a great ambassador for Canberra and Australia.
