Video: OKC’s Westbrook makes it known he isn’t a Spurs fan

The Thunder are fighting for their playoff lives in a battle with the Pelicans for the West’s 8th seed. OKC would need the Pelicans to lose tomorrow night to the San Antonio Spurs for the Thunder to secure the final playoff spot.

However, despite knowing OKC needs the Spurs to win tomorrow night, Russell Westbrook wants to make it clear – he isn’t rooting for San Antonio.

Video: Meet the crew of ‘Spuran Spuran’

I don’t even know where to begin with this but if you ever wanted to see Aron Baynes in full KISS makeup, complete with his key-tar, well, here you go.

It seems San Antonio Spurs’ Matt Bonner is at it again with his quirky comedy videos and this time, Bonner along with Kawhi Leonard, Baynes, Patty Mills and The Coyote have formed the 80s inspired rock group “Spuran Spuran.”

Check out the hilarious video of Bonner and his teammates talking about their musical influences (like Leonard being influenced by Metallica members), Mills on a tiny guitar bragging about music labels after the group, and the Coyote in Michael Jackson “Thriller” red-jacket. (more…)

Tim Duncan named Western Conference Player of the Week


The NBA today announced that San Antonio Spurs forward Tim Duncan was named the Western Conference Player of the Week for games played Monday, April 6, through Sunday, April 12. Boston’s Isiah Thomas was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week.

This is Duncan’s 23rd time earning Player of the Week honors, which is tied for fourth all-time (Karl Malone and Allen Iverson) since the award was established prior to the 1979-80 season. He becomes the second-oldest player in NBA history to receive the award behind Reggie Miller who was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week on April 3, 2005 at the age of 39.

Duncan averaged 17.3 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.25 blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.50 blocks while shooting .650 (26-40) from the field as the Spurs went 4-0 for the week, extending their win streak to 11 games.
