• According to Johnny Ludden of the San Antonio Express News, Oberto and the Spurs are close to an agreement to bring the center back and it may be done by early this week. That means the Grizzlies will have to cross him off their wish list.
• The NBA extended its TV contract with its current partners ABC/ESPN and TNT until the 2015-2016 season. Damn, there goes my dream of NBA on NBC coming back.
• Now that Grant Hill has changed his mind, will he sign with the Suns or Spurs? The Suns are hoping he doesn’t pull a Tim Thomas and leave them without any major free agent signings.
• Arizona coach Lute Olsen thinks Marcus Williams will be perfect for the Spurs.
• In case you missed it, the Spurs purchased the Austin Toros of the NBA Developmental League. The Spurs will control all aspects of the team including offensive and defensive systems, which be beneficial when they send players down or call them up.
