About ProjectSpurs

Project Spurs dot com, now in version 3, was originally created by two die-hard San Antonio Spurs fans. It was created to provide Spurs fans the ultimate site for all Spurs news and information with many features dedicated to our visitors and users. Project Spurs has a lot to offer on many different levels and for all kinds of fans.

Project Spurs was launched in August 2004 and the domain ProjectSpurs dot com was purchased a few weeks after. It has grown from purely a news portal to a site complete with many features not offered by any other Spurs websites. Project Spurs dot com is designed in Macromedia Dreamweaver and coded in HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript.

About Us
Project Spurs was designed and created by Michael A. De Leon, but the site has some other key contributors who we couldn't do without. Find more information about the sites' creator and crew below.

Michael A. De Leon
Duties: Webmaster, Staff Reporter, Graphic Deisgner, Spurscast Producer/Host
Messageboard Handle: Michael
Favorite Spurs Player(s): Manu Ginobili, Tony Parker
Favorite NBA Players: Antonio Daniels, Rip Hamilton, Dwyane Wade

Michael has been a San Antonio Spurs fan since a very young age. Allthough he attended very few games, he always followed the Spurs and his favorite player, Sean Elliott on the tube for many years. Growing up he always admired the guys who were lucky enough to cover the game and gained an interest in journalism and sports writing and never developed it until he entered college and majored in journalism. Writing for The Ranger at San Antonio College, Michael studied his field and developed his writing skills until he got a job at a local newspaper in San Antonio. At first starting out as a designer and a general assignments reporter, De Leon's dream was realized about a year into working at the newspaper. Given the San Antonio Spurs beat, he wrote the weekly column The Spurs Report along with player features and game recaps. Now a graphic designer in San Marcos, TX, he still keeps up on the Spurs and continues writing with his columns, features and articles on ProjectSpurs and on the Four Quarters Blog. Also the webdesigner of the current version of ProjectSpurs.

Growing up in San Antonio, he's been a huge Spurs fan since he was a child and has attended several Spurs away games in The Palace of Auburn Hills, in Michigan, Madison Square Garden in New York City and Continental Airlines Arena in New Jersey.

Mike Paceleo
Duties:
Staff Reporter, Spurscast Co-host, Quizzmaster
Messageboard Handle: samikep
Favorite Spurs Player(s): Manu Ginobili
Favorite NBA Player: Lebron James

Born and raised in San Antonio, Mike grew up with the Spurs and fondly remembers the days of Ice, Captain Late and the Whopper. That long standing and deep seeded devotion makes the current era of the Spurs even more enjoyable. He lived through the dark days after the Ice Age and before the Admiral dropped anchor. He survived Rod Strickland's pass and Dennis Rodman's apathy. No one cheered louder after the Memorial Day Miracle and no one was happier when the Spurs finally broke through and won the title. He brings a unique mix of humor, passion and knowledge to the site and delights in sharing that with one and all. He is but a fan, and knows that only a true fan can truly love the game and its history. Mike started his sports journalism career as the first sports editor of the
Taft High School Newspaper, the Raider Review. He has also written for several websites and in addtion to the Spurscasts, he has also participated in WOAI.com SpursZone Roundtable discussions, and came in third in the Ticket760's Reporter for a Day contest.
