Under Armour and Steph Curry did some copycat work in new commercial

Stephen Curry and Under Armour put out a neat commercial congratulating the star on winning the NBA’s MVP trophy for the 2014-15 season. However, what they didn’t do that was cool was copy a quote from the great poet Jacob Riis. If you listen closely. you’ll notice the deep voice says this: “When nothing seems […]

Video: Cory Joseph takes his family to school on the court

There’s nothing like making sure your game is in tip-top shape when you’re an NBA player.

And what better way to make sure your game is raring to go other than taking your family on the court and making them look silly if you’re San Antonio Spurs guard Cory Joseph.

Shot back in January, Joseph and his aunt, uncle and mom, were at the Spurs’ practice facility when he pretty much crossed-up his aunt en route to the layup. (more…)

Video: The Curious Case of Tim Duncan

While his contemporaries such as Kobe Bryant, Kevin Garnett, Vince Carter and the retired Steve Nash all have succumbed to Father Time, San Antonio Spurs’ Tim Duncan continues to play at a high level, despite 18 seasons in the NBA.

Duncan may well be in his 30’s but age hasn’t stopped him on the court and he even was named to the All-NBA Third Team this season. Indeed, TD just seems to get better with age. Perhaps he is the real life “Benjamin Button” of the NBA!

Check out this animation of “The Curious Case of Tim Duncan” including a creepy looking coach Gregg Popovich holding Duncan like a baby. (more…)

Spurscast 364: Guessing Game

The San Antonio Spurs face a selection of numerous paths this offseason. Only five players have guaranteed contracts and two of the pending free agents are future Hall of Famers in Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili. It is still unknown whether or not Tim and Manu will suit up for one more season and only six weeks remain till free agency begins. San Antonio must also address the Danny Green conundrum and the team future of Cory Joseph, Jeff Ayres, Aron Baynes, Marco Belinelli, and Matt Bonner. Very much could change but the Spurs could also roll once more with a familiar cast.

Tony Parker’s minutes to be heavily managed with Team France

Well here’s some reassuring news for the San Antonio Spurs and Tony Parker. As you may well know, Parker is set to play for Team France this summer at Eurobasket 2015 despite admitting he wasn’t 100 percent physically during the 2014-15 NBA season. However, Team France’s head coach Vincent Collett has taken into consideration TP’s […]

The Spurs’ Plan Does Not Include The Draft

On Tuesday night the formerly hapless Minnesota Timberwolves won the NBA Draft Lottery. Obviously they are looking to pair an All-Star caliber player with the reigning NBA Rookie of The Year, Andrew Wiggins. Nothing new to report there. The mysticism that surrounds the lottery is intense. There is an unwavering belief that the winner of […]

Editorial: 2015 Christmas Jerseys Released

As the self appointed judge of all things uniforms I feel compelled to weigh in on the 2015 NBA Christmas Day Game uniforms. The NBA, and their design teams, hit a home run- so to speak. These uniforms are great. The scrolling font on the front of the jersey is hardens back to the classics. […]

Tony Parker Vows An Active Recovery Approach To 2015 Offseason

It is becoming increasingly more popular for NBA fans and franchises alike to criticize a player’s desire to play year-round basketball. The inferred stress that it causes a player under an NBA contract is seen as fruitless and disruptive to recovery from a long NBA season. If that player’s NBA team was fortunate enough to […]
