Spurs Roundtable: What went wrong? (Video)

On this episode of the San Antonio Spurs Roundtable, the panel of Jeff Garcia, Chelsea Torres and Ryan McCallum take a look back at what went wrong for the Spurs in the postseason versus the Clippers.

Was it the culmination of the regular season heading into the postseason? Was it more about the x’s and o’s that were played? The panel breaks it all down.

Also on the show, the trio talk about the future of the team and the future of Manu Ginobili. (more…)

Popovich expects the Spurs to have their core back next season

The San Antonio Spurs just had their season ended at the hands of the Los Angeles Clippers, but that didn’t stop reporters from asking about the Big 3 and if they would be back next year. Popovich in typical Pop fashion answered their question. “People ask me about Tim [Duncan] and Manu [Ginobili] and myself […]

Paul, Clippers end Spurs’ season in Game 7 finale

Heading into Game 7 Saturday evening, the series between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers almost felt like it could have been decided by a coin toss, as both teams were so evenly matched. Heads: Chris Paul will make a right handed hook shot while being contested by Danny Green and Tim Duncan […]

Boris Diaw is key to Spurs’ Game 7 Hopes

With a Game 7 tonight between the San Antonio Spurs and Los Angeles Clippers, the team from Texas will need a hero to step up in crunch time with advancement into the second round or elimination and the possible end of an era near. This task will have to be shouldered by Boris Diaw, a […]

5 things to watch: Spurs vs. Clippers (Game 7)

This is it. One game, winner take all! The San Antonio Spurs (3-3) will visit the Los Angeles Clippers (3-3) today in Game 7 of the first-round series. The Spurs are coming off a 96-102 loss to L.A. in Game 6 in San Antonio. Marco Belinelli hit a career-high-tying seven three-pointers and scored 23 points off the […]

The Age of Aldridge could begin…somewhere in Texas

Now that the Portland Trail Blazers are out of the playoffs and in their offseason, ESPN’s Marc Stein asked the burning questions. Despite Blazer big man LaMarcus Aldridge playing below his averages in these playoffs, there is no shyness from a number of suitors who will be pursuing him hard in the offseason. However, it […]

2015 NBA Executive of the Year Results

On May 1, the NBA announced that they were awarding the 2014-2015 NBA Executive of the Year to Bob Myers of the Golden State Warriors. I’m certainly not surprised to see this recognition bestowed upon Myers, especially when the Coach of the Year award went to Atlanta’s Mike Budenholzer instead of Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr. […]

Redick DHO Game 5 - 1

Dribble Hand-Off allowing Redick to find quality looks vs. Spurs

While Blake Griffin and Chris Paul are currently averaging a combined 46.2 points per game through six Playoff games against the San Antonio Spurs, another Los Angeles Clippers starter has begun to find his shots and rhythm as of late in the series, in shooting guard J.J. Redick. In the first three games of the […]

How To Fix The Spurs Going Into Game 7

Three words to describe last night are empty, vacant, and hollow. I realize that the score was close, and even that is a worthless descriptor. The San Antonio Spurs were carried by Marco Belinelli.  In the most action he has seen this series, Belinelli made seven three-pointers, including one with less than 20 seconds to […]

The two best words in sports: Game 7. That is exactly what will happen on Saturday night when the San Antonio Spurs take the court inside Staples Center to face the Los Angeles Clippers one last time. Los Angeles forced a winner take all seventh game with a 102-96 win in Game 6 on Friday […]

Spurs Snubbed By Legendary Coach Jim Boeheim

The San Antonio Spurs have long been the favorite of many NBA insiders and analysts to take it all, but head basketball coach of Syracuse University, Jim Boeheim, has another pick in mind for the league’s elite. You could say Boeheim has a pretty good grasp on the game. Jim’s near 40 years of collegiate coaching […]

Why the Suns Didn’t Want Kawhi Leonard in the 2011 NBA Draft

When a player who goes 15th in his draft wins the NBA Finals MVP and Defensive Player of the Year awards in his first four professional seasons, it’s pretty obvious he was a steal. The Spurs certainly knew what they were doing when they traded for Kawhi Leonard on 2011 NBA Draft night, even though it […]
