Video: Kawhi Leonard’s One Hand Alley Oop Dunk vs. Clippers

Defensive Player of the Year Kawhi Leonard is showing he’s not just a one trick defensive pony. During game 3 of the first round, the San Antonio Spurs defensive ace showed his offensive athleticism (and huge hands) after catching an alley oop lob from teammate Danny Green. We know Leonard has his moments in transition, […]

Pregame Spurscast: Spurs vs. Clippers (Game 3)

AT&T CENTER – The San Antonio Spurs (1-0) are back in the Alamo City as they host the Los Angeles Clippers (1-0) tonight for Game 3 of their opening round playoff series.

Heading into the game, the Spurs will be riding a huge 111-107 overtime win in Game 2 in L.A. and stole home court advantage.

However, tonight the Spurs will be without center Aron Baynes and Tony Parker will play despite Achilles issues he suffered in Game 2.

To break down tonight’s matchup, Project Spurs’ Jeff Garcia and Paul Garcia take a look at tonight’s pivotal game and discuss whether tonight is a must-win for the Spurs.

Why Is Baynes Listed As Doubtful?

The game day injury report was released this afternoon ahead of Game 3 in San Antonio. I see that Tony Parker is set to play, which means that he will start, tonight. Aron Baynes, however, is doubtful. Why? I see that soreness on the right ankle has been listed as the injury, but could that […]

Spurs Game 3 Adjustments

To say that San Antonio stunned the Clippers in Game 2 is to sell the defending NBA Champions short. Surprisingly, that was the headline on this morning. On the very day that Kawhi Leonard was voted the 2014-2015 Kia NBA Defensive Player of the Year, it has become even more evident that the Spurs […]

Great, or Just Really Good?

Words are a simple commodity. If we inflate them they lose there value. I wish I came up with that line (it was author Jess Walter). I wish I had the mastery of that kind of prose, because the phrase is so true. There is no such thing as a great taco. No pizza should […]

Could OKC dip into the Popovich coaching tree?

The popular names for the Oklahoma City Thunder to replace former coach Scott Brooks have been popping up all week. Names like UConn’s Kevin Ollie, Florida’s Billy Donovan, Mark Jackson, and Tom Thibodeau have been yelled loudly the past few days, but there are some whispers of other guys who could be good candidates. Iowa […]

Spurscast 361: Fundamental Onions

In Game Two of this San Antonio – Los Angeles series, Tim Duncan transformed into an omniscient ball of light and carried the Spurs to a 1-1 series tie. The Big Fundamental tallied 28 points (14-23 FG) along with 11 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals. San Antonio had an incredibly disappointing outing in the opening game and was carried to victory in the second match by Mr. Duncan and the duo of Kawhi Leonard and Patty Mills. Homecourt advantage has swung but are the Spurs doomed by the bum legs of Tony Parker?

These west-coast Playoff games are always brutal on the central timezone viewer, but in this case the juice was definitely worth the squeeze. Bruce Bowen’s list of top five defenders is indefensible

ESPN’s Chris Broussard and former San Antonio Spurs player Bruce Bowen gave their list of top five defenders in the NBA and a certain Rudy Gobert was not happy about it. He brought back the tweets from earlier in March and he’s probably not happy considering he’s been on a tear the past few months. However, […]

Budenholzer learned of COY award from Popovich

Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich is known for his rather brief sideline interviews on national television. However, underneath that hard exterior is a kind-hearted and down to earth man. A man who always wants to see others succeed on and off the court. Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer was named the 2015 NBA Coach […]
