According to reports, the San Antonio Spurs are looking to add recently waived center Anderson Varejao.
Sources told ESPN.com that the Warriors are among the playoff teams, along with Oklahoma City, San Antonio and Dallas, currently investigating the prospect of signing Varejao, who is scheduled to clear waivers Sunday after his trade from Cleveland to Portland and subsequent release by the Trail Blazers….
Sources say Varejao, for his part, plans to take the weekend to clear his head before seriously thinking about his next destination.
Anderson was waived by the Blazers as part of the deal that sent Channing Frye to the Cavaliers. Anderson has been dealing with various injuries that have kept him from playing full seasons in years past. Should the Spurs sign him, it be just for veteran leadership and big man insurance.
The Spurs are among other playoff bound teams trying to lure him such as the Warriors, Mavericks and Thunder.
