The San Antonio Spurs finally came to the end of month-long journey. The Stock Show and Rodeo is leaving the Alamo City and its time for the Silver and Black to return home, but not before taking on their in-state rivals.
Kawhi Leonard scored 27 points as he led the Spurs to a 104-94 win over the Houston Rockets inside the Toyota Center on Saturday night to close out their Rodeo Road Trip.
LaMarcus Aldridge added 26 points and 16 rebounds. Tony Parker chipped in 15 and Kyle Anderson had 11 for San Antonio, who won their 50th game of the season.
San Antonio outscored Houston 26-11 in the first quarter and used an 11-2 run in the third quarter to lead by as many as 31 points. The Rockets responded with two runs of 8-0 and 6-2 to cut the deficit to 11, but Leonard and the Spurs proved to be too much in the end.
The Rockets were led by James Harden’s 27 points on 10-of-25 shooting. Corey Brewer and Jason Terry both came off the bench to score 15 for Houston (29-30), who are fighting for their playoff lives. Houston came into the game Saturday clinging to the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.
The Spurs are now 50-9 on the season and will return to the court on Wednesday night when they welcome the Detroit Pistons to the AT&T Center at 7 p.m.
