Bruce Bowen and the evolution of Gregg Popovich

Former San Antonio Spurs forward Bruce Bowen loves to talk about his former team and he was pretty complimentary of his former coach in Gregg Popovich. He talked with SiriusXM NBA Radio about how Popovich has evolved his coaching techniques and adapted to the game over time.

He specifically mentions how as people get older — which Popovich may or may not be doing — they don’t like to change their ways, but Popovich has definitely not stayed stagnant. He also spoke of how the decision to change with the game might have elongated Tim Duncan’s career as well.

About Benjamin Bornstein

A University of Florida grad, Ben likes basketball way more than he should. He gets excited about a Timberwolves-Kings game so that should tell you how intense the passion is for him. His favorite teams are the Spurs and Magic because he likes to be on both ends of the winning spectrum.
