Tony Parker says chances of playing with Team France this summer are slim

This summer will be the 2014 World Cup of Basketball in Spain where the best-of-the-best players and team will converge for a chance to play at the next Olympic games.

Among the teams will be the French national team looking to secure a spot in the Olympics but they might have to do it without their star — San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker.

To be honest, there are not many chances for me to play. I'll have to see how it'll be the end of the season, how will I feel – said Parker.

This is welcomed news for Spurs fans (and perhaps the coaching staff) who would like to see TP finally get an off-season of rest.

Parker had a busy offseason before entering the Spurs 2013-14 season. He played well into June in the 2013 NBA Finals and then played for Team France leading them to gold at the EuroBasket. Add a quick turn around to San Antonio for training camp and you have a very over-extended player.

Team France should be alright despite not having Parker. France still has Nicolas Batum, Joakim Noah, Boris Diaw, Nando De Colo, and Evan Fournier.
