The 6’4″ guard out of Marquette went undrafted in the 2013 NBA draft and played in both of the 2013 summer leagues (for the Houston Rockets in Orlando and the Memphis Grizzlies in Las Vegas). A highly-touted athletic freak early on, Blue’s college and professional career has been tarnished by both his size and limitations as an offensive weapon. After bouncing back and forth between the NBA and the Israeli Super League, Blue was acquired by the Delaware 87ers of the NBA D-League. Blue also suited up for the Maine Red Claws and the Idaho Stampede after playing out a 10-day contract with the Boston Celtics. In 27 D-League games, Blue averaged 16.8 points (39.3 FG%), 4.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 turnovers.
Kyle Anderson, Marcus Denmon, Deshaun Thomas, Melvin Ejim, Darington Hobson, Bryce Cotton, Durand Scott, Nobel Boungou-Colo, and Viktor Gaddefors have also been reported to join the Spurs’ Summer League roster. Project Spurs will provide further updates as the Las Vegas League roster continues to take shape.
