Kawhi vs Thunder Game 5

Report: Spurs to host Thunder on Christmas day

While the 2014-15 NBA schedule is set to be unveiled at 5 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, some matchups are starting to be leaked. Earlier Project Spurs’ own Paul Garcia wrote that the San Antonio Spurs will open the season on October 28 against the Dallas Mavericks.

According to Darnell Mayberry of the The Oklahoman, the silver and black will host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Christmas day at the AT&T Center at 2:30 p.m.

The game will be a rematch of the 2014 Western Conference Finals that saw the Spurs clinch their sixth berth to the NBA Finals in a dramatic game six overtime win en route to their fifth championship in franchise history.

Last season the Spurs hosted their in-state rivals, Houston Rockets on Christmas night as they suffered a 97-90 loss.

We’re sure silver and black will try to stuff the Thunder’s stockings when the two teams collide for a holiday showdown inside the friendly confines this Christmas.
