The San Antonio Spurs have asked former NBA player Hakim Warrick for a workout according to Syracuse.com. According to the report, Warrick is to head to San Antonio to workout on September 1.
Warrick was drafted 19th overall in the 2005 NBA Draft and was selected by the Grizzlies. He then became a journeyman playing for the Bucks, Bulls, Suns, Hornets and Bobcats before eventually landing in China to play for the Liaoning Jiebao Hunters.
For his career, the 6’9″ forward averaged 9.4 points, 4 rebounds, and shot 49 percent from the field.
Prior to being invited for a workout by San Antonio, Warrick has expressed his interest of a return to the NBA.
“The goal for me is to get back in the NBA. This is one step to show that I can still play at a high level.”
