According to Yahoo! Sports’ Marc Spears, the San Antonio Spurs are expected to guarantee Austin Daye’s contract for the 2014-15 NBA season, in which Daye will earn $1,063,384.
While the Spurs have until midnight to decide, they are not expected to waive forward Austin Daye, a source told Yahoo.

Daye is currently on a non-guaranteed deal, and the Spurs have until midnight to release him. If the team were to release him, they would open a roster spot and only have to pay $250,000 of Daye’s deal.
If the Spurs do keep Daye on the roster, he would be the Spurs’ 10th player with a guaranteed contract. The expectation is the Spurs will also sign first round draft pick Kyle Anderson in the near future, which would put the roster at 11 players.
That would leave the Spurs with two active roster spots, and two inactive roster spots to fill if they choose.
Boris Diaw, Patty Mills, and Matt Bonner will all become unrestricted free agents at the turn of midnight, and Aron Baynes will be a restricted free agent, since the Spurs have already extended a qualifying offer worth $1,115,243.
If the Spurs bring back all four free agents, they will have reached the maximum roster limit of 15 players. However with free agency expected to be frenetic, no one can quite pin-point what types of offers Diaw, Mills, Bonner, and Baynes could receive from other teams.
