It looks like San Antonio Spurs draftee Deshaun Thomas won’t be on the Spurs’ training camp roster this October, as Sportando.com is reporting Thomas is close to signing with the Italian club Sidigas Avellino.
DeShaun Thomas is finalizing a deal with Sidigas Avellino, according to source.
Thomas was part of the Spurs’ 2014 Summer League roster in Las Vegas, where he averaged 10.8 points, grabbed 3.2 rebounds, shot nearly 48% from 3-point range, while shooting 41% from the floor in 20.3 minutes per game, in six games.
Last season, Thomas was playing in France with the club JSF Nanterre, where he averaged 12.2 points and grabbed 3.9 rebounds per game. Could Thomas become a teammate of Spurs draftee Adam Hanga? Saturday news broke of Hanga being loaned to Avellino from Saski Baskonia, but then Hanga’s agent quickly squashed the reports, saying his client was not being loaned to any team.
The Spurs selected Thomas in the 2013 NBA Draft with the 58th pick in the second round.
