According to Shams Charania of RealGM.com, San Antonio Spurs unrestricted free agent forward Matt Bonner is still in contact with the Spurs, as he is waiting for the teams roster to unfold.

As recently written, the Spurs will only have two roster spaces available once the Spurs sign Boris Diaw, Patty Mills, and Kyle Anderson. Since Bonner is one of the Spurs’ free agents, the Spurs can go over the salary cap to re-sign him, as well as Aron Baynes, if they so choose.
In Manu Ginobili’s recent press conference in Argentina, he mentioned that the Spurs just needed to bring back Diaw and Bonner, to bring their championship core back together. Charania also reports that other teams haven’t pursued Bonner, 34, just yet.
As Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports wrote Sunday, it seems the Spurs’ next free agent target is unrestricted free agent Pau Gasol, whom the Spurs plan on trying to sign with the full Mid-Level Exception. The chances still seem slim of signing Gasol, because he’d have to take a substantial pay cut to play in San Antonio.
Once Gasol’s decision is made, more light should be shed on Bonner’s future with the Spurs.
