Mavs’ Rick Carlisle wants to kick the Spurs’ butt

Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle thoughts on the San Antonio Spurs have come pretty clear in a radio interview Thursday with KESN-FM 103.3 in Dallas.

Carlise was asked if he would like to see Coach Gregg Popovich leave the  game and give him a fond farewell. Thinking he’d would want to see the Mavs’ in-state rival lose one of the best NBA coaches ever, Carlisle responded that he wouldn’t want to see Pop leave just yet so he and the Mavs can kick the Spurs’ keister instead.

Obviously, Carlisle is just having some fun and is joking around.

However, it would be nice to see the Spurs-Mavs rekindle their once intense rivalry. Those days were the best as the two teams brought out the best in each other.

If you remember, Carlisle’s Dallas Mavericks were the only team that pushed the Spurs this post season sending them to seven games in the opening round.

Maybe, just maybe, Dallas might be a team the Spurs need to watch out for heading into next season.
