Harden: “I’m the best all around basketball player”

There is a fine line between arrogance and confidence and it seems Houston Rockets guard James Harden is trying to walk that tight rope.

During an interview with ESPN’s Scoop Jackson, Harden left little to the imagination to who he thinks the best basketball player in the NBA is.

Scoop: Bottom line, you are on this team and a lot of players aren’t, but in your mind, who is the best basketball player alive right now?

Harden: Myself.

Scoop: That’s what I was about to say, “including you.” You made that sound like it was an easy answer.

Harden: It is. Myself.

Harden will have plenty of time to back it up when the NBA season begins in late October. However, the Rockets already lost out on Chris Bosh earlier in the summer and traded away Jeremy Lin to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Add the fact Harden hasn’t won anything in the NBA and other players, such as Lebron James, or the reigning NBA champs San Antonio Spurs probably read what he had to say, it might be safe to say he just painted on his back one huge target.

It seems Houston may have a problem after all.
