Enel Brindisi signs Marcus Denmon

The Italian basketball club Enel Brindisi announced the signing of San Antonio Spurs 2012 second round draftee Marcus Denmon Saturday.

With Denmon signing to play in Italy next season, this move likely omits any chance of Denmon being invited to the Spurs’ 2014 training camp in October, which also means there’s no chance he’ll play in San Antonio in the upcoming season. Deshaun Thomas, the Spurs’ 2013 second round draft pick, also signed to play in Italy recently, with the club Sidigas Avellino.

In the last two summers, Denmon has participated in the Las Vegas Summer League with the Spurs. In July, Denmon averaged 5.0 points, shot 29% from 3-point range, in close to 17 minutes per game, in six games. In his last two seasons, Denmon has played with Chalon (France) and Tofas Bursa (Turkey).

Outside of the 14 players already signed to guaranteed deals, the Spurs’ only other two training camp contracts that have been signed are the ones for point guard Bryce Cotton and forward JaMychal Green.
