Devin Harris: “We’re due for a win against Spurs”

The San Antonio Spurs have defeated the Dallas Mavericks 10 consecutive times and apparently that is enough for Dallas guard Devin Harris.

“We’re due for one (a win),” Harris said after the Mavericks’ Game 1 loss to the Spurs.

Dallas knows first hand just how difficult it is to beat San Antonio. They had a chance on Sunday as they held a ten point lead with just over seven minutes to go in the game, but the Spurs would storm back for the five point victory.

The chances of the Mavericks beating the Spurs four times in a seven game series are awfully slim, especially when you haven’t beaten that team in ten tries.

“If you don’t believe that you can beat a team, you should just stay home,” Dirk Nowitzki told ESPN Dallas. “That’s how you have to go into a series. You can lose 20 times to a team, but you’ve got to go in with a fresh mindset, be ready to go to battle and then leave it all out there and then see what happens at the end of the series.”

If Dallas could not beat the Spurs when they were not playing at their best, it will be much harder for them when San Antonio begins to play the way everyone expects them to.

However, Harris is right. The Mavericks are due for a win against the Spurs, but I’m sure the fans of the Silver & Black are hoping that win won’t come in this playoff series.
