Los Angeles Lakers guard Kobe Bryant is known for having an intense work ethic. So much so, that players around the league have heard tales of Bryant’s hard-core dedication to the game including the Clippers’ Blake Griffin.
Griffin spoke to the Los Angeles Daily News about Bryant’s non-stop work ethic and in particular, a story involving San Antonio Spurs guard Marco Belinelli.
“One I heard, one time I guess he was in Italy and called Marco Belinelli (of the Spurs) at like 1, 2 o’clock in the morning and asked him if he had a gym for him, and so Marco found him one and he went there to shoot with him.
“And he (Belinelli) was like, ‘I thought we were going to just get some shots up, but we had like a full workout.’
Kobe, who has been dealing with injury this season, has established himself as one of the most fierce competitors in the league and his hard work has paid off during his NBA career.
A thorn in the Spurs’ side for years, Bryant will go down as one of the greatest in the league thanks in part to his intense work ethic.
But for Belinelli, I am sure after the rigors of an NBA regular season schedule, early morning workouts are something he’d prefer avoiding.
