Report: Spurs to call-up Malcolm Thomas from D-League

According to ESPN's Marc Stein, the San Antonio Spurs will be calling up current NBA D-League player Malcolm Thomas who spent time in San Antonio two years ago.

Thomas had just played his first two games with the Los Angeles Defenders where he opened up averaging 33.5 points and 15.5 rebounds. Thomas played in three games with the Spurs during the 2011-12 season (lockout season) and was also a teammate of Kawhi Leonard's when Leonard was in college at San Diego State University.

Thomas has also spent time with the Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls while also playing with other D-League clubs like the Austin Toros, Rio Grand Valley Vipers, and Santa Cruz Warriors in the last two years.

Also of note on Sunday, the Spurs sent Aron Baynes and Nando De Colo to the D-League to play with the Austin Toros in their home opener. With one vacant roster spot remaining, the Spurs would have to sign Thomas to put him in a San Antonio uniform once more.
