Report: Blair signing with Mavs not a done deal (Update)

Dallas Mavericks’ fans jumped for joy and screamed to the havens – probably – today after former San Antonio Spurs backup center gave the impression via Twitter that he would be making the 275 mile trip north to join the team.

That “excitement” lasted only for approximately five hours when Blair went back to twitter to say he was, “still up in the air.”

Blairs agent, Happy Walters confirmed to Fox 29’s Maximum Sports that, “contrary to one report of a ‘Dejuan to Dallas’ story being a done deal, the New Orleans Pelicans and Washington Wizards are still in hunt to land his services.”

One has to wonder if the Pelicans or the Wizards are offering Blair much more than the Mavs. If true, then obviously he will pick the bigger offer. There were also reports that the Spurs had been nixing deals involving Blair since they would like something in return.

Nevertheless, Blair will not be wearing black and silver next season. The question remains as to which other team uniform will he be wearing next season.

Update:

Blair has officially signed with the Mavs.
