ESPN crowns Spurs Team of the decade

Spurs big threeIn the midst of a historic run to begin this NBA basketball season, the San Antonio Spurs have been singled out as team of the decade by ESPN. Not just the best basketball franchise, but the best in all professional American sports, out of 122 franchises.

The Spurs are the only franchise that has been ranked in the top 10 by ESPN in it's annual, "ultimate franchise rankings", every single year this past decade. The ESPN rankings consider several things, from team accomplishments to front office work.

In the past decade, the Spurs have earned 3 NBA titles, won 50+ games every year, and hold the best winning percentage of all major professional sports as well as top 10 in attendance and overall fan approval.

And to top off the list of accomplishments, Coach Pop is also ranked #1 Coach of the decade. As a long time fan of the Spurs, it feels great to see the team that I have so much respect for, gain such accolades.
