With San Antonio Spurs' Tony Parker rumored to be defending his Skills Challenge title, the Spurs may have more than enough representation during All-Star weekend. Former Spurs greats Sean Elliott and Bruce Bowen will be taking part in the All-Star Celebrity Game presented by Sprint
Also on the court will be past and present NBA and WNBA players, including former Rockets Dikembe Mutombo and Clyde Drexler, former San Antonio Spurs Sean Elliott and Bruce Bowen, Tamika Catchings of the Indiana Fever and Maya Moore of the Minnesota Lynx. (Blog.Chron.com/UltimateRockets)
The Spurs have been represented in events like the Skills Challenge and Shooting Stars Challenge, but not in the Celebrity Game as the Spurs don't seem to get much media attention when it comes to a game like this.
There's mostly mainstream celebrities in this like Justin Beiber and the like, so this will be very interesting and good news for Spurs fans who appreciate Elliott's commentary during the Spurs games.
Bowen is a surprise, but he's also an ESPN personality these days so the (positive) attention he's garnering now is good news too. I wonder if these two will square off against each other on different sides of the court.
If so, who do you have between the two Spurs fans? Will Sean Elliott try to duplicate a Memorial Day Miracle or will Bowen likely have a vintage defensive performance with a few corner threes?
