Cory Joseph to play for Team Canada

Add guard Cory Joseph to the list of San Antonio Spurs players hitting the hardwood for their home country this summer. Cory will be playing for Team Canada this summer at the FIBA Americas tournament in Caracas, Venezuela this August.

Joseph just completed play at the Vegas Summer League and will soon be joining Team Canada workouts before heading to Venezuela.

The added time on the court should prove to help him as next season kicks off. He showed much improvement at Vegas with the Spurs Summer League team and with him guiding Canada, will only help his development for the Spurs.

Of course there is the risk of injury in Venezuela and exhaustion heading into the 2013-14 NBA season, however, he is young should be ready to go for San Antonio to make another run at title number five.

Joseph will be joining Tony Parker, Boris Diaw, Nando De Colo, Patty Mills and Marco Belinelli as Spurs playing for their respective home country in tournaments this summer.
