All of us remember that “Be like Mike” commercial from when a lot of us were younger.
(Please take a second to look at the Gatorade bottle to see how long we have been wanting to be like him.)
For former San Antonio Spurs player Tracy McGrady, it seems he still hasn’t gotten desire out of his system. During his youth, he was known as an excellent pitcher who could reach ninety miles per hour on the radar gun.
According to Fansided website, McGrady has followed the footsteps of his “Airness” by joining the Sugar Land Skeeters to pursue a Minor League pitching career.
The team release the following statement:
“Tracy McGrady is one of the most elite athletes of this era and we appreciate his interest in pursuing a life-long dream with the Sugar Land Skeeters and the Atlantic League. While the Atlantic League is considered the highest level of baseball outside of Major League Baseball, McGrady has demonstrated skill, determination and diligence during his training program at Constellation Field. We look forward to monitoring his progress.”
So while there maybe no question bout his talent, the validity of the tryout does come in to question. Considering that this was the same team brought Roger Clemens during his comeback during 2012 just to get some extra ticket sales.
So Spurs’ fans do you think McGrady will make it through the entire season with the Skeeters?
