San Antonio Spurs’ Tim Duncan may have had his 13-consecutive All-Star appearance streak snapped (though I doubt he cares and can use the time to rest) but TD is on the verge of yet another milestone in his career with the Spurs.
TD is currently ranked seventh among the franchise career steal leaders with 802 and with two more steals, he will pass Mike Gale (803) for sixth place and will place him behind Manu Ginobili ranked fifth in steals with 966. However, another current Spur is right on Duncan’s heel’s.
Tony Parker is ranked eighth with 755 steals and considering TP will be playing longer than Duncan, there’s a good chance he will pass TD later down his career. Currently, Parker is averaging 1.1 steals per game while Duncan averages 0.7 steals per game.
And in case you were wondering, David Robinson is the Spurs’ all-time leader in steals with 1388.
TD will have a shot at passing Gale tomorrow night as the Spurs take on the New Jersey Nets in New Jersey as the Rodeo Road Trip rages on.
