Bonner sticking to what he knows

Matt BonnerOn Friday against the Dallas Mavericks, San Antonio Spurs forward Matt Bonner scored 14 points, 12 of which came from beyond the arch.

According to Fort Worth Stat-Telegram reporter Dwain Price, via his twitter page, Bonner had a funny exchange with Mavs analyst Derek Harper.

“That was funny. Mavs analyst Derek Harper just told Matt Bonner to stop making so many 3’s. Bonner said: ‘That’s the only thing I can do.'”

Yes Bonner, we all know you are a tad bit one-dimensional but admitting it is the first step.

However, that knack for hitting the three-point shot does come in handy. It does spread the court for players such as Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, DeJuan Blair, and Kawhi Leonard to operate.

While Bonner may occasionally drive into the lane, it’s a safe bet that he’s most comfortable 23.9 feet away from the basket.

But you got to appreciate Bonner’s ability to laugh at himself. Now if he can only work on his defense.

Hey, I can dream can’t I?
